Jeff has deep roots in Grimsby and a long history of involvement in the community.
A third-generation Grimsby resident, Jeff has spent decades as a local employer, community supporter and public servant. His family has deep roots in Grimsby, and he has remained closely involved in the Town’s business and community life.
Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph and has contributed his time to local and regional organizations, including Carolinian Niagara. He is also a member of the Grimsby Lawn Bowling Club.
Jeff is married to Rebecca and is the proud father of Olivia.
With nine years as a Grimsby Alderman and two terms as Mayor, Jeff brings extensive municipal leadership experience and a firsthand understanding of the challenges facing Grimsby as the community continues to grow.

Across Jeff’s two terms as Mayor, he has helped lead Council and worked alongside Town staff, community partners and residents as Grimsby advanced major priorities in health care, recreation, downtown planning, heritage protection, regional transit and strong representation for Grimsby.
Helped advance the redevelopment of West Lincoln Memorial Hospital through extensive collaboration with community and government partners. Grimsby committed more than $9.3 million toward the project, and the new hospital opened to patients in November 2025.
Collaborated with Council to transform the Peach King Centre into a true multi-use community hub. The expanded facility opened in January 2026 with new gymnasiums, an indoor walking track, fitness and youth spaces, and multi-purpose rooms, with the project completed under budget.
After years of advocacy and work with regional and provincial partners, construction of the new Grimsby GO Station began in July 2026. The station will connect Grimsby directly to the Lakeshore West line, with opening currently expected in summer 2027.
Worked with Council to reduce the higher building heights originally contemplated for downtown in the Official Plan, while also pursuing lower heights through individual planning decisions and development negotiations. These efforts helped protect the scale, character and heritage of downtown Grimsby.
Supported stronger protection for Grimsby’s historic properties, including a major expansion of the Heritage Register and additional heritage designations and preservation initiatives. In 2022 alone, another 320 properties were added to the Heritage Register.
As Mayor and a member of Niagara Regional Council since 2018, Jeff has advocated strongly for Grimsby’s interests at the Region and with provincial officials, working across levels of government to advance local priorities. He has consistently opposed amalgamation, believing it would not serve Grimsby’s best interests.

Open doors. Clear information. Accountable decisions. Keep residents informed, make local government accessible and responsive, explain budget decisions clearly, and fight for better value for Grimsby taxpayers at Niagara Region.
Growth should pay for growth. Plan new development carefully, protect Grimsby’s character, heritage and established neighbourhoods, and ensure the infrastructure and services needed for growth are in place without leaving existing taxpayers to carry the cost.
A growing Grimsby needs infrastructure that can keep pace. Continue investing in roads, water, wastewater, stormwater capacity, drainage and creek systems so our community is better prepared for major storms and the demands of future growth.
Protect what makes Grimsby special, our escarpment, waterfront, green spaces, tree canopy and natural heritage, while growing responsibly and preserving our community for future generations.
A growing Grimsby needs a transportation network that connects neighbourhoods, businesses, schools and recreation. Work to complete the new GO station and advocate for increased GO service to improve connections within Grimsby and beyond.

Key voting information for the 2026 Grimsby municipal election.
Monday, October 26, 2026 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Electors must vote at the designated polling location shown on their Voter Information Letter.
Advance in-person voting: October 14 • 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. October 17 • 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Major Refrigeration Peach King Centre Internet voting begins October 5 at 12:00 p.m. and remains available until October 26 at 8:00 p.m.
